Overview
Over half of Scottish schools now have an Apodo System. The successful implementation of the Apodo System for Enterprise can depend very much on the motivation of the teacher or pupils leading this resource. The idea of senior pupils leading this resource is one that has taken off in many secondary schools, asking Tree of Knowledge to train the sixth year to use Apodo as part of their Buddy or Mentoring programme.

The APODO Buddies course aims to

• Provide senior pupils with an effective means of building positive relationships.
• Raise self-confidence and self-belief in working with younger pupils and encouraging them to take responsible risks, think 'out of the box', crave success and tackle challenges 'head on'.

• Build on the enterprising skills, qualities, self-confidence and self-belief developed through school.
• Provide an opportunity for senior pupils to display leadership skills and to take responsibility.

• Provide a more varied school experience, focused on the needs and interests of each young person.
• Encourage students to experience and develop an understanding of the world of work.

• Help create a positive, fun working environment for younger pupils to contribute to and feel part of.
